Utter disappointment. This is the second time I come here for happy hour and everything from the drinks to the service to the food was SUBSTANDARD. The waiter did not understand me whether I spoke in English or Spanish. Every plate they brought out had me wondering if I'd ordered from the right place because it looked nothing like the menu. There is no consistency in their service or food.

Interesting detail, to go to a Peruvian restaurant attended by Cubans. Is the Peruvian gastronomy moving forward I think so. this is a sign. Peruvian franchise come to the elegant Coral Gables. Under a historic hotel, Segundo Muelle conquers Florida. Stylish decoration with open concept, nice view of the bar with an "L" shaped table setting. A group area is hidden pass a french door. Waiters dress in black with gorgeous hostess. The enu are hardy and structured to be self explanatory with pictures to describe the dishes and not to complicate the poor Cubans, not aware of our culinary prowess. I started with a Maracuya Sour, it was delicious, just a bit small, hence losing a star. Pico should be the flag liquor of the establishment, paying $10 for just a taste makes for great profits in the short term but in the long term we need to see Pisco a the Tequila re-born. Come don't serve Pisco in an 8oz glass. Well, back to the food, we were a group of four and me and my friends always eat Chinese style, food goes in the middle of the table and we share everything. First, the causas with two sauces. Nice starter, nice introduction of the yellow potato dish infused in aji. The sauces, one aji based and the second one a haucatay reduction, were very tasty. We shared a plate of gratine scallop that brought us back to the beaches of Lima. For the main courses we ordered the Batayaki Maki, which I had better, but was good. Sudado de Antano, which is a a overly complicated way to introduce the delicate Sudado, need to simplify there; I ordered the ceviche de pescado, which was the best ceviche of my visit; and the best was the Risotto con Lomo Saltado, with a real lomo au juice that make me feel like liking the dish. For dessert we shared a delicious flan. Needs some improvement, but gets a good four stars.

I went there for lunch with a coworker, although they don't have lunch specials the prices are somewhat reasonable and among the $14-$18 range. They brought complimentary bread and butter and our dishes were delicious.

I went last week with my mom and we both really enjoyed the food and service. We shared the parmesan scallop appetizer which was delicious. I had a salad which was actually very tasty for a salad. My mom had one of the seafood entrees. I took a mixed seafood entree to go. The sauces on both entrees had a lot of flavor. Our server was attentive and the hostess at the front was very welcoming.

I've been here twice and the bad service outweighs how delicious the food is.. After my last experience I will not be visiting segundo muelle ever again.

Came for Friday lunch, restaurant was pretty empty. Was looking forward to a nice ceviche with 4 friends. We started with a 'pankita with pulpo' which was pretty good but looked nothing like the picture in the menu. We had ordered our entrees with the pulpo. After waiting a long time 2 of the 5 entrees came out. The server said he was coming back with the ceviche dishes. 10 minutes later 2 more dishes came out. Another 10 minutes and the last dish arrived. I have never in my life seen this poor planning. Now the food: the ceviche de mariscos a los tres ajies was the worst ceviche I ever had. It was small portion size and small individual pieces. The sauce was way too creamy. Lastly, the service was below par and no effort was made to make up for the delays. I will never be back.

The service was outstanding! I am redoing this review since my first time the octopus was chewy, but the last time was great. We had ceviche mixto and shells with Parmesan. Tres leches with kahlua was OUSTANDING! Decor is amazing and they live music started at 9pm. Fun place to hang out

Between the attention to detail, to the delicate hands of the chefs, to the service by not just the staff but their lovely managers..when you're done, you'll walk away with the desires of wanting to come back. Food, simply delish...!

Normally Im not a review person, but this restaurant is very good; from the food, to the service, and drinks. I have no complaints. The ceviche and octopus are my favorite, but so far everything has been great. I Think I'm ready to bring my dad that he is pretty hard to please. Carolina Wong was attentive and Antonio the bartender can make a mean drink. Can't go wrong with this restaurant.

Impeccable display and full of flavor. Would definitely come back hands down. Glad I came here during my visit to Miami. :)

Great restaurant. The food is amazing. The have typical Peruvian food and some fusion dishes. We ordered the segundo muelle ceviche which was good but I really preferred the original one with more lime taste. The sushi is amazing. Nice fused rolls. The PESCADO A LO MACHO is amazing and is a tasty and soft flavored as well.

Definitely recommend it amongst all the Peruvian restaurants in Gables area. The food and the menu is just like the one in Lima. I had read some of the reviews from my fellow yelpers complaining about the service and the octopus, so I must confess I was a bit nervous about bringing 12 friends who were following my recommendation. But we went! And everyone loved it. We ordered the conchitas (grilled gratined scallops), the pankitas de pulpo (octopus) and the causas. The parrilla didn't really impress me. But for the main course I ordered the atamaliado de mariscos. And it was delicious!! Decent portions and fairly priced. The service was great! Very attentive and in English all the time!

I am a big fan of Peruvian food, so I might be a little more critical. The quality of the ingredients is great, however, the actual dishes leave a lot to desire. Honestly it's way overpriced and I don't see the value... Won't really make an effort to come back.

The service here was TERRIBLE! The quality fish in the ceviche was mediocre at best. The only time our waiter came over was to deliver our food. No service for refills or to order any beverages. We had to wave down three different people just to pay for our meal, and even then, it took 30 minutes for someone to come over to give us the ticket.

I am a foodie and let me tell you if this is Peruvian..I am from another planet..the service poor..the food brought one piece at a time and not all together...I will not come back....living in Miami there's is TONS of great AUTHENTIC Peruvian food..but certainly this IA NOT one.

Went to Segundo Muelle for valentines dinner with 3 couples. Located inside of a hotel floor level restaurant, the place looked nice and modern considering where it is , inside this old Coral Gabel building. Our waiter at first seemed to be all over the place, took our order for half of us, then moved to the other table to take an order, then we had to call him to finish taking our order. But after that it got better, so not too bad after all. The appetizers were ok and came pretty quick. We wanted a bottle of wine and they were out of bottles, so that was strange . The main course had some hiccups , a few came cooked wrong so had to be sent back, then a ceviche came way too hot so had to be changed. After that was corrected them it was fine. The desserts were very good, had a tasting of 3 . Conclusion to our experience, we came, we tasted Segundo Muelle and that is it, moving on to try other places.

If you like bland food, this is the place for you. The richness of the Peruvian gastronomy derives from the use and complexity of the ingredients on each dish. The attention to detail and how to extract these flavors is what makes a fraction of the commonly served dishes (in Miami's Peruvian restaurants) a joy -a palatable delightful treat. Segundo Muelle, is hardly any of the above. The dishes served are neither palatable nor treated with attention. What a waste of fish on ceviches that have no seasoning at all. The octopus and anticucho sauce (Panquitas de Pulpo) completely overly spiced with paprika. The Causa Limeña, a traditional tuna and mashpotato (with olive oil, peruvian yellow pepper and lime) based appetizer, was missing the tuna (or chicken - sometimes used as an alternate) and the mash potato was tasteless. The pisco sours and chilcano drinks, traditional Peruvian Pisco based cocktails, were poorly fixed. Overall, this place is a culinary disgrace, and hardly a Peruvian restaurant. And here is a tip for all foodies: If there are no Peruvians eating in a "Peruvian restaurant," do yourself a favor and don't waste your money. There are hundreds of other options in Miami. This is not it. What a joke!

Excellent restaurant. So far best Peruvian restaurant in Miami. I tried the Cebiche a los 3 Ajies, Lomo Saltado with Tacu Tacu and the Suspiro Limeno. Also Pisco Sour and Chilcanos very Good. I highly recommend it.

Segundo Muelle really took my palate for a surprise. I came last night with my boyfriend for a media dinner and was beyond impressed with the service and food. Upon entering the hostess, greeted us warmly and and we were sat promptly. I'm a finicky eater so I shared some dishes. We ordered sushi ( the best ever). The sushi we gobbled up quickly. We also ordered the risotto with out the lomo since we are vegetarian and it was great. For desert, we tried the tres leche with Bailey's and it was relish. I like that our server was attentive and kept coming back to replace our drinks and make sure our food was on point. I'm happy to have a good restaurant in the gables.

Had a wonderful meal at Segundo Muelle Miami. Our server, Fabian, helped us choose delicious ceviche and a very tasty sangria drink. I look forward to going back next time we are in Miami. Everyone working here was super friendly.

We stopped at Segundo Muelle yesterday for lunch. It looked very interesting from outside. We were greeted very nicely upon arrival and taken to a table by a window. The server was very attentive. We ordered a mixed cocktail and a glass of Pinot Grillo, the cocktail arrived with a bug inside, the wine was so sweet that it was probably Chardonnay or Chablis. The server promptly gave us new drinks and apologized for the incident. Ordered conchas parmesan, we were served about six ceramic small dishes in the shape of shells with some mollusk covered by some cheese other than Parmesan, we are very seafood savy people, but we don't know what we ate. The main entree was chicharrones de "langostinos", I wish I had taken a picture of the dish, very small shrimp. The other entree was chicharrones de pescado, soggy, cold fish. In summary, very attentive personnel but very poor quality of food. Definitely will not recommend this place and we will never return.

Wow an amazing experience. The food is just fantastic, the cocktails are awesome, my favorite Sangre De Toro. They have excellent natural juices which are very good for children. For sure the best Peruvian restaurant in the city.

Went here for lunch with my co-workers since I work nearby...I was sat right away and greeted by our server shortly after. Fabian was great, very descriptive about the dishes and very helpful in suggesting what to order. I had the grilled octopus with risotto (not on the menu but he was able to accommodate that for me. The appetizer he suggested was delicious, it was 3 different ceviches, all very fresh and plentiful. Everyone enjoyed their entrees, but my favorite were the desserts. The suspiro and the tres leche with baileys were amazing. All in all, although its not my favorite peruvian restaurant, I will be back to try different dishes.

If your looking for delicious authentic Peruvian dishes, Segundo Muelle is the place to go. Located a few blocks from the hustle & bustle miracle mile can be, finding a place to park was convenient. Once you enter your greeted by the staff and seated. Lots of windows make this a great resturant to go to on lunch and quite romantic during dinner time. Has a nice ambiance with relaxing music. Not so loud like Hillstones, where it's difficult to have a regular conversation without having to shout. Waiters uniform are clean, crips & tidy. Very attentive, serving water glass and delicious bread with butter while you have time to choose from all the great appetizers and main course meals. I started with a nice glass of white wine accompanied by a "new style ceviche" yum yum! So fresh. Also a kausaki roll. This was incredible! For main course I ordered Lomo saltado- risotto. Probably the best cooked meat. Tender juicy, all the right flavors with the balance of the risotto. Completely satisfied with the service provided and most importantly with the food. Not too easy nowadays to find a place comfortable to eat. Again definitely recommend Segundo Muelle! I' ll definitely be coming more often!

We spent our vacation in Miami last September and stop by the restaurant since we had tried their food in Lima. As a Pisco Sour lover really liked theirs and their Ceviche and Lomo were as good as in Lima. The Chef, Yerko Paredes, came out to greet the customers and explained a few of the main dishes. Service was good. I recommend it to all my friends in Miami.

Peruvian food is not the first type of food that comes to mind when it's time for lunch or dinner, but after having lunch there with my co-workers for the first time i would definitely spend more lunch hours at Segundo Muelle. Our server Fabian provided excellent service and all dishes he recommended were incredibly delicious. I thought i didn't like ceviche until I tried their appetizer of Piqueo tres cebiches. It was fantastic. i also had the Mediterranean salad (has grilled chicken and fried cheese) with a half order of Maki Achifado sushi. As for dessert we tried the suspiro and tres leches with baileys. Everything tasted amazing and I would recommend it to everyone.

Great food. You've got to have the Conchitas a las Parmesana, the Ceviche a los 3 Ajis and also the Causa. Would definitely come back....

I have visited over 5 times in a 4-months period. The food is good, but service must be improved. Service may be slow at times; sometimes food doesn't all come out at the same time which is an issue in my opinion. I really think appetizers (and main courses) must be served together. If you have 6 and 6, make sure all 6 apps come out first - at once. Not 4 first and 2 later. That doesn't work. Back to the cuisine, Segundo Muelle offers traditional Peruvian food with modern twist. I highly recommend "ceviche los tres ajies", "octopus tartar", "tiradito de pulpo", for appetizers. As main course, the "lomo saltado" "risotto de lomo", and "pescado sudado" are great (tasty) options. To end, "crocante de lucuma" is a must! Delicious lucuma mousse over a bed of crunchy crust. Exquisite! I hope my next visit will result in improved service. That would be really nice for a change. Thanks!

The food is good but the portions are small. We ordered out for my birthday (I'm just not a fan of being stuck in restaurants). The amount of octopus to avocado fur the tar tar appetizer seemed stingy. Also it came with bread instead of chips. Everyone agreed the food was good, just too small for what we paid for it.

My parents have been here a few times and wanted to take me, as a birthday celebration. Im not up on Peruvian food but the few times i have had it, ive nejoyed it. The space itself is well decorated, modern but felt a bit cold to me. Everyone else in the group disgarreeed with me, lol. the food, i can tell you is excellent. for apps, we shared the Piqueo tres cebiches and hicharron de pescado. Both were full of flavor and I recoomend highly. For my entree, i chose the Spaghetti a la huancaina con lomo. Th elomo was cooked to medium perfectly and overall a delicious dish. Finally, for dessert, my parentes raved about the Suspiro. Alas, they had run out. I settled for the "crocante de lucuma", while the others shared a flan. I loved both, they favored the flan. To me, either one is a solid choice. However, my parents were disappointed about the Suspiro shortage. The food was very tasty and very reasonbale on the pocketbook. A rarity these days. I will be back.

I had a fish with a wonderful sauce. Unfortunately, the fish was tasteless. The rice was mediocre. How can someone ruin rice, especially in Miami where it is such a staple of the population? The desert was good but not outstanding. It was like a cheese flan. It was very good but I can get cheese flan anywhere.

  • R H.

Food was just ok, portions were small and my chaufa seafood rice had no trace of seafood. My boyfriends pasta dish was amazing but considering this is a peruvian restaurant they leave a lot to be desired. They also ran out of dessert and the appetizers were limited. Service was good. Manager needs to lower her voice when barking orders, this is an upscale restaurant not her back yard.

  • Clara A.

Service is very slowwwwwww. 25 min wait for a salad. Servers are nice but having food would be nicer. Ok food finally arrived and omg how yummy!! Loved every bite. Why is my stomach so small!!

Having lived in Peru for 3 years, I was excited to come here. Across the board, this place is underwhelming. I ordered 2 types of ceviche and a causa appetizer. The food was extremely average and ordinary. The service was slow and non-attentive. We were given one glass of water and not offered refills. We had to ask 3 different waiters for our check and actually are still waiting as I write this!!! Bottom line, there are numerous other options in Miami for Peruvian food. I would choose any of them.

  • Josean C.

Nice Peruvian restaurant, fancy style, really quite because nobody was there eating but me and my girlfriend. I read some reviews where people said they get bread and butter, I just received potato and plantains chips. The waiter was attentive but I had to call the head waiter for service and a waitress for the rocoto sauce my waiter forgot to bring and I was almost done with my ceviches. I think the staff needs to learn more about Peruvian food, we call the purple drink Chicha Morada, no chichara. I was tasting the food in my mouth after two days eating there. But the desserts were awesome.

I went there two weeks ago and thought the food and service were amazing. Since I had such an amazing experience, I decided to go back for more amazing food. I got to the restaurant at noon and was told that the restaurant did not open for lunch for another 20 minutes. I found that odd. I assume the snobby hostess that walked up to us didn't think we could eat there because we were dressed enough since we were in Nike wear. Obviously she is not from here and doesn't know that your clothes are not the color of your money. Their loss. I ate ceviche at Ortanique's that didn't have a problem with our apparel.

This is a new restaurant because when I would walk by I would see them in construction. It is a Peruvian restaurant, really casual but nice decor and alot of window seating. I got a meal that was basically steak with noodles (sorry, I can't remember the name because I felt like it was in Spanish. I could be wrong though.), and it was pretty good! The steak was a little more bloody then I wanted and a little salty, but the pasta wad really creamy (and fattening. Yum!). The reason I gave this a 4 is because the staff is so incredibly incompetent. To start off with, we were looking at the menue to order, she just sat at our table watching us and not taking the hint. Then we told her after a few uncomfortable moments thay we just need to look it over, so she decided to watch us from afar. The waitress told us the difference between the half and full sushi rolls is that the half comes with "about 5" rolls and the full comes with "about 7". In her words, they full is twice as much in price ($12 I believe), because there are more ingredients WITHIN the sushi roll!! I have no idea where she got this from. Then, the sushi comes out with 10 rolls (which is standard for a full sushi order) and she has the nerve to say "oh, we gave you more sushi because we felt bad...." no, you gave us more sushi because you don't know your info. I kep asking her how big the steak was that came with my meal, and she kept saying "no." What are you saying no to?! I am not asking a yes or no question! We didn't even find out her name until we got the checks, and I won't say her name to save her the emberassment. Anyways, I probably won't be going back here anytime soon but it was a new experience for me.

I had the pleasure of being invited to the soft oopening of this spot and was absoultely thrilled. The ambience was top notch and the cocktails were beyond belief. I had their take on a whisky sour, with passion fruit it was amazing!!!! The fish ceviche was the freshest I've had in the city. For the main course I had their lomo saltado with riossoto it was a very interesting twist on a very traditional peruvian dish. For desert we had the chocolate cake which was ok, but then they brought us a cinnamon custard in a martini glass (don't remember the name) but it was honest;ly one of the best deserts I've had in my life. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the Gables.
